BLOG 8: A SUBJECT I ENJOY STUDYING THIS SEMESTER

Hey everybody in this time I’d like to talk about my favorite subject that I had this semester

In my case, this is ‘Cazadores Recolectores’ in this subject we learn about hunter/gathering groups, that is a way to call groups that his method of survival is hunting/ gathering. The subject is a theoretical subject, so we don’t have workshops o similar things, but in two times we saw movies, the first one was about Hunter/Gathering around the world and the second was a Herzog Documentary about Rock painting in a cave of France, I think they are the oldest paintings of Europe

In class we have seen several things about this groups like Rituality, Symbolism, American settlement, a Little bit about shamanism and entheogenic drugs. We learn about how patriarchy has built a masculinizing discourse of the past where hunting is more important than gathering because it is a male activity. In fact, the gathering was much important then hunting in the diet of this groups.

I like this subject because I learn a lot about this kind of groups and in Chile the study of this groups it linked with Archeology what is my favorite mention.

Blog 7: a career-related website that you enjoy visiting

Hey everybody in this post i'd like to talk about "El robot de platón" 

El robot de Platon is a youtube channel dedicate to scientific dissemination. The mision of this channel is, accordin Aldo Bartra (his creator), spread the knowledge. Aldo also had another channel called "el robot the colon" dedicated to teach about animals.

There is several sections in the channel like "La mente" where Aldo talk about the human mind, "Cosmos" dedicated to talk about the universe and its mysteries and other interesting sections. 

i met this channel in 2017 when i was looking for mini-documentaries to kill time and I liked it inmediataly, in fact several times I stayed up late watching his videos.

I like this channel becouse I always learn something new with his videos, the channel is a good way to approach science to kids, adults an ancients  in an easy and fun way. He always puts references in the description of every video to the people know where  he get the information he is talking about.

Blog 6: Favourite genden/musician

Hey everybody!
 In this post i'll talk you about my fouvorite musician. My favourite musician is a england band, maybe the most important band of the history, i talk about: The Beatles.

I met The Beatles in 2015, before that i knew some song of they but i was dont interesed in they. I found them becouse a friend of mine this year. he showed me 'Abbey Road' a incredible disc. After that, i started to search more beatles's discs and songs and i was impacted.

I like  the beattles becouse they music is amazing, always when i hear their songs  i faund new thing that surprise me. They change the occidental pop music and i like that. I love the sound that they invented. there is a after and a before the beatles in the music

my favourite beattle is george harrison i like his songs becouse it makes me shudder, i feel very melancholic with his son and a appresited that.

Blog 5: A photograph

Hello everybody this week i ll take about photography

I really like photografy and in my free time i used to take photos. I have a semi profesional camera but I use my cellphone to take pictures too.

But this week i dont talk about me but a photograph that i like a lot. This fotograph call "Birth of Galacy" by Matt Sahli. I found this picture surfing in Intagram. In the picture you can see in the firt plane a big mountain with snow at the top, up there is a cloud whit a cilindrical form and pinky colours. Up there you can see the milky way, in the center of the picture down through the sky to hide behind the cloud.

I dont know who is the photographer of that picture and i dont know where or  when was taked, because i found it on instagram. I only know that the name of the photographer is Matt Sahli.

I like thath picture because i love the  astronomical photography but this is a particular astronomical photograohy because beside of see the milky way you can see a beautiful mountain  whit a pinky effect.

BLOG 4: PETS

Hello everybody, im back and in this time i want to write about my pets.

All my life my family had pets, we had cats, dogs. turtles, a rabbit and a goose. Now we have 2 pets: 2 lovely cats. Their names are Gordo and Pancho.

At firts i'll write about Gordo, he has been  with us since 2007 aproximately, I don't know the year exactly. He is the cat of my great-grandmother and when she came to live with my family in 2011 she carried Gordo whit her. In this year, Gordo was not a fat cat so his name was diferent, my great-grandmother called him 'cucho'. A few years late Gordo eat a lot and got fat, so we started to call him 'gordo'. I really like Gordo, he is a lazy and dumb cat (in the good way) and he always is asking for foot, his hair is so softly and a really like pet him.

Pancho is really diferent i bring him to my house in 2013 and my family don't like him at first but lete their love it . Pancho have a wild soul, he is a white cat whit blue eyes. he is always hunting or fight with other cat of the neighborhood. He always sleep with my grandparents and they love that. I like the wild soul of Pancho and his independence and really like when sometime he want to be pet and I really appreciate that moments.

Now i live in Santiago so i only see them in the weekends and that is so sad. Sometimes i really need them when iI fell lonely but i know that i'll see them in the next weekend and i fell better. My life without their will be different and if i lose them i dont really want another cat to fill the gap.

BLOG 2: WHY DID I CHOOSE THIS PROGRAMME/CAREER?

Hello there, this week i'll write about why i choose this career.

Well, when i was a boy i had a lot of options about what i wanted when i grew up. I'll tell you a few options: Painter, firefighter, poet, a famous rockstar etc. always when someone asked  me "what do you want to do when you grow up" i had a different answer.

In the high school that question turned to What do you want to study when you get out to the high school, an uncomfortable question. I didn't really want to study something and nothing exited me. The time passed and in the last year of high school i had to take a choice. In my mind i had the option to study History, psychology or philosophy. My history teacher told me "Nico, please don't study History" and that sounded really convincing. So i had to choose between psychology and philosophy. Finally i chose Philosophy but i left the career the second year.

After thinking what i want for my life and search a lot of options I chose study Anthropology because i don't know jaja I only knew it, something like an intuition. Later,  i knew the career of Anthropology in the University of Chile had the option to study Archaeology and that sounded awesome to me.

My experience in this career has been great, I have learnt a lot, I found a great group of friends and i believe studying anthropology is good decision.

When i graduate  i would like to work doing Archaeology of recent past, for example in ex "centros de detención, tortura y exterminio" of the dictatorship or work doing Etno-Archaeology in the V region of Chile.

   

Blog 1: My autobiography 

Hello, my name is Nicolás Andrade and now in my firts post I want to introduce myself

I was  born  in Viña del Mar, Chile in december 18th of 1996- I'm Sagittarius- I was born in the Hospital Naval of Viña del Mar beacause my father is a navy oficer  so in a few month later we haved to moved to Caldera (north of Chile ) with him. We live in Caldera untill i was 5 years old, then my father have to move to Punta Arenas but my mother don't wanted so they broked.

After that, my mother, my little brother Camilo and I moved to Limache. We moved to live with my mother's gandparent.  In Limache i have my firts memories c:

I studied kindergarden, 1rs and 2nd grade in Rosa Martinez school and there i met my firts friend called Nuncio Cabada. In 3rd grade I go to Limache College, another school of Limache, I studied there untill 8th grade after that me and my family moved to Viña del  Mar to search a better life- I think-.

I arrive to Viña del Mar in 2011 with my mother, my brother, my grandparents and the mother of my grand mother and  my childhood dog Syntia <3 - woow a lot of people-. Sadly syntia scaped of our new house so I hated it, and I hate viña, and my news classmate and my family and everything.  I missed Limache so bad.

I studied my high schools years in Panamerican College, a school close to my new house. 

In 2015 I began to study Philosophy at University of Valparaiso, after 1 year there i get depresion so I left the career in 2016 a few moths later I began to work in Mcdonald's - I haved a joke about that, a said to my friends of philosophy that I  save 5 years to beagan to work in Mcdonald's* - . 2016 was a sad year, uwu but a decidied to make my own "into the wild" and in October 2016 I traveled alone around the south of Chile, that was an important moment for me because i learned to know my self i knew what i wanted to my future. 

Last year i worked in a cafe and a studied in a preuniversitario and this year i  began to study Antropology in the University of Chile and I like it and i want to be an archeologist.

In my free time i like to play music, read mangas and latinamerican literature, go out with my friends, watch movies play board games, travel and camp.
